Families at Risen Savior
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. — Mark 10:14 (EHV)
Every church wants to be family friendly. At Risen Savior, we do too. But we do so by recognizing that the best way for a child's faith to grow is when the church and the family are working together.
Our children's ministry is built on the following foundational principles:
The biggest spiritual influences in a child's life will inevitably be his or her parents.
God asks parents to bring up their children "in the training and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4) and he will equip them to do so.
The sights and sounds of active children within our congregation are a great joy to us and evidence that God is blessing our future even now.
We’re In This Together
We realize that, especially at first, having children in church can feel like a bit of a marathon. To help you and your little ones feel at home, we offer:
A Message Just for Them: A dedicated children's message during the service, tailored specifically to help kids learn about God’s love at their level.
Hands-On Worship: Ask an usher for a Children’s Activity Bag or worship sheets. They are filled with quiet, fun ways to help little hands stay busy while their hearts soak in the service.
The "Grace Space": If your little one needs a moment of calm or a quick change of scenery, feel free to step into our Grace Space located just off the Entryway. Once everyone feels settled, we’d love for you to rejoin us in the pews!
A Supportive Community: Our pews are filled with “seasoned” parents and grandparents who have been exactly where you are. They are ready and willing to lend a hand, a smile, or a word of encouragement whenever you need it.
Growing in the Word…
Our Sunday School is a fun, nurturing environment where the Bible comes to life. From 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, children explore the same certainty of the Gospel through lessons tailored to their specific stage of life.
We offer dedicated classrooms for:
2- & 3-Year-Olds: Building a foundation of Jesus’ love through play, song, and stories.
4- & 5-Year Olds: Engaging young hearts with the big pictures of the Bible.
Grades 1–2: Growing in understanding of God’s Word and its place in our lives.
Grades 3–4: Diving deeper into Scripture and learning to apply the Gospel to a “messy world.”
Grades 5–6: Developing a personal, firm faith as they prepare for the transition to youth ministry.
What to Expect: When you arrive at 10:00 AM, our team will help you find the right classroom for your child. Whether they are coming for the first time or the fiftieth, we can’t wait to share the Good News with them!
Coming this Sunday? We’d love to meet you! Look for our greeters at the front door, or ushers in the entryway — they can help you find the Sunday School classrooms or grab an activity bag for the service.
